Mr. Yimam Ahmed has over 50 years of experience both in the government and private sector. After receiving his Bachelors of Business Administration degree from Addis Ababa University, as well as Masters in Business administration from Strathclyde University in Scotland, Mr. Yimam worked in various government institutions such as Commercial Bank of Ethiopia, Ethiopian sugar corporation, Ministry of Finance, Central Planning (zemechaMemria), and later served his country as a vice minister of Domestic Trade during the Derge era.

After serving his country tirelessly for two decades in the government sector, Mr. Yimam worked as an international agricultural marketing consultant and later joined the private sector in the early 1990s. During his time in the private sector, Mr. Yimam played a major role in turning a small electronics shop into one of the major players in the white goods trading business.

Today, under Mr. Yimam’s leadership, KANYA Business PLC continues to prosper and has become one of the fastest-growing private companies in Ethiopia.
