Established in 1990, KANYA Business PLC is a family-owned business engaged in several businesses such as import and distribution of home appliances, manufacturing, hotel, and coffee export business.
KANYA Trading, with our HOMA and Ardo brands, is one of the largest import and distribution companies in Ethiopia. Through our dealers throughout Ethiopia and our retail shop in Mercato, Addis Ababa, KANYA Trading has managed to control significant market share.
Furthermore, KANYA Business PLC is engaged in the manufacturing of white goods. This factory manufactures refrigerators, washing machines, bread ovens, standing ovens, and deep freezers. Today, there are over 300 employees hired in this factory.
In addition, KANYA Business PLC, under a franchising agreement with Best Western Hotels and Resorts, is operating a four-star hotel in Addis Ababa, near Bole International Airport, named Best Western Plus Pearl Addis. This hotel is an 11-story building with 76 bedrooms, two bars, fine-dining restaurant, and three meeting halls. Currently, there is a second-phase construction that is underway to increase the total room count to 200 and increase the star rate to five.
Additionally, KANYA Business PLC is engaged in the coffee export business. Today, our company owns washing/drying stations in many parts of the coffee growing communities of Ethiopia. The coffees that are produced by our company are further processed, bagged, and stuffed at our company-owned processing plant in Burayu, a town adjacent to Addis Ababa.
