Fine Ethiopian Coffee Beans Straight from Our Drying Stations

To control the quality and consistency of the coffee we supply to our customers, we have built washing/drying stations in many parts of the coffee growing regions in Ethiopia. Today, we supply our customers with Guji, Sidamo, Yirgachefe, Djimma, and Lekempti coffees. We are working tirelessly to include other varieties into our offerings. Ultimately, our aim is to become a one-stop-shop for our customers.

Sourced directly from our drying stations

Our coffee is unique because it comes from a single washing/drying station – allowing full traceability. Our coffees are sourced from nearby farmers who bring their coffees directly to our stations.

At our stations, coffee is sorted to remove damaged or under ripe cherries. Then, cherry is delivered onto raised beds to dry under shade for 10-14 days until the moisture content reaches 11%. During this time, the cherry is regularly turned and hand-sorted several times to remove any damaged or discolored cherry. This labor-intensive, yet effective way of production, produces a coffee bean that truly has an exquisite cup profile.

Production Capacity

At our washing/drying stations, we are working with over two thousand farmers, four hundred of whom are member farmers, to supply us coffee directly from their farms to our stations.

Sourcing coffee directly from our stations allows us to assure our customers with three important points:

1. Consistent quality;

2. Traceability; and

3. On-time delivery.

Storage and Processing

Beaeka Processing CenterWhen coffee arrives in Addis Ababa, it is stored at our company-owned processing plant in Burayu, a town adjacent to Addis Ababa, for further processing, bagging, and stuffing. This plant has the capacity to process two containers of coffee per-day, and is equipped with a state-of-the-art technology.

Most importantly, this processing plant allows us to process coffee by maintaining the agreed quality standards per as the sales

Giving back to Farmers

Giving BackA pursuit to quality coffee starts with a happy farmer. Our company believes that farmers should be well compensated for the quality of coffee they produce. As a token of our appreciation, we pay an extra 2 birr/kg above the daily market price to our member farmers. In addition, at the end of the coffee season, we pay an additional 3 birr/kg to member farmers by calculating the total amount of coffee they brought to our stations.

Furthermore, we actively participate in donations to schools, medical facilities, and infrastructure programs such as road projects in Guji region.

When our customers buy our coffee, they are indirectly contributing to the coffee growing community!
